The Freed Black Girl
I’m Najmah Ahmad, founder of The Freed Black Girl platform — a space for joyful healing, learning, and collective liberation. What started as a podcast has grown into a movement rooted in storytelling, community workshops & events, healing journey advising, and an incubator for Black women entrepreneurs.
For 17 years, I worked in education, economic justice, and policy, creating pathways for Black and brown youth historically shut out of opportunity. But it was through my own nearly 7 year healing journey — in somatic therapy, spiritual initiation, and 4 years of entrepreneurship — that I reclaimed my voice, reconnected to my ancestral lineage, and embraced my role as a healer, storyteller, and guide.
I specialize in supporting people through the in-between seasons of life: when you’re no longer who you were, but not yet who you’ll become. Through healing journey advising, entrepreneur coaching, and intuitive spiritual practices, I help people uncover what’s blocking them, connect with their ancestors, and return to themselves.
I believe our ancestors left us a blueprint.
I believe storytelling is medicine.
I believe liberation happens when we heal — together.
Thank you for being in community with me.
With Gratitude,
Najmah
